About the Hall
The Wardell & District War Memorial Hall is a single-level building, originally established in honour of those who served in the First and Second World Wars.
The building was formerly known as Richmond Hall. It was renovated in the early 1950s and the additions were opened around October 1954 (Northern Star, 24 January 1949; 19 February 1949; 1 October 1954).
Standing outside the front of the hall is an upright bushrock, bearing a bronze plaque. A flagpole stands directly behind it. The bushrock replaced the original brick column that had a marble plaque attached and was constructed in 1961. The column was destroyed by a large truck in 2015. A local quarry donated the bushrock and it was later installed on site.
